Surfaces within hatcheries, such as egg trays, hatching baskets, and equipment, can harbor pathogens like Salmonella, Escherichia coli (E. coli), and Clostridium perfringens, posing a risk of contamination to eggs during handling and incubation, thereby transmitting infections to chicks. This contamination can also facilitate pathogen spread within the hatchery environment, as pathogens transfer from surfaces like egg trays or hatching baskets to other areas, equipment, or personnel through contact, heightening the risk of infection transmission.

Inadequate cleaning and disinfection practices further compound the problem, allowing pathogens and biofilms to persist on surfaces, exacerbating infection risks. With avian influenza outbreaks recurring in the poultry industry, there’s a pressing need to elevate and monitor biosecurity standards.

To tackle this challenge, PNI has introduced a cutting-edge antimicrobial coating technology, Micro Dome Poultry Gard and Micro Dome Poultry Gard Plus. These coatings provide continuous antimicrobial protection on hard surfaces, combating pathogenic organisms prevalent in poultry environments. Extensive efficacy and safety studies conducted in the USA, Canada, and India demonstrate the durability and effectiveness of Micro Dome Poultry Gard. Surfaces treated with this innovative coating exhibit exceptional resistance to drug-resistant pathogens, bolstering existing biosecurity measures within the poultry industry and safeguarding hatchling health.

The Superiority of MD Poultry Gard in Enhancing Surface Performance

Surfaces within hatcheries can become contaminated with pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli. These pathogens can be introduced through fecal matter, respiratory secretions, or contaminated equipment. When chicks come into contact with these contaminated surfaces, they can become infected.
